The Differences Between the 2021 Chevrolet Trax and Trailblazer

If you’re in the market for an affordable small SUV, Chevrolet has two great options to consider. Setting aside their distinctive looks, there are several differences between the 2021 Chevrolet Trax and Chevrolet Trailblazer to consider before making your decision.

Max storage space

Both the Trax and Trailblazer make good use of their compact sizes. But if you’re looking for the one with the most cargo volume, the Trailblazer offers 54.4 cubic feet with the second row laid flat. The Trax is still impressive in its own right with 48.4 cubic feet of total cargo volume. Both can accommodate long cargo items, too — the Trax has a max cargo length of 8 feet and the Trailblazer has a max length of 8.5 feet.

Safety features

Both the 2021 Chevrolet Trax and 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer earned the 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Each also offers a range of safety features, including Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer features Chevy Safety Assist, a suite of driver-assist technologies including Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.

Trim choices and engine options

With the 2021 Chevrolet Trax, you can choose from the well-appointed LS and LT trims. Both versions of the Trax feature a standard 1.4-liter ECOTEC® Turbo engine that puts out 155 horsepower and returns 31 mpg on the highway.*

The all-new Trailblazer offers a bit more variety with five trims: L, LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS. The Trailblazer lineup includes two engine options: a standard 1.2-liter ECOTEC® Turbo and an available 1.3-liter ECOTEC® Turbo.

The best way to weigh the many differences between the 2021 Chevrolet Trax and Trailblazer is to try them both out for yourself. Call or email Ken Nelson Chevrolet in Dixon, Illinois, and we’ll schedule your test drive.

*EPA-estimated 26 MPG city/31 highway (FWD models).

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of the wind in your face while you’re behind the wheel of a convertible. Since Chevrolet is constantly looking for ways to satisfy every type of driver, you can rest assured that Chevy has a collection of impressive convertible models.

Two of those models, the Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette, were recently named among the 16 Best Convertibles of 2020 by U.S. News & World Report.

While the standard model for Camaro is a coupe, the sports car does come in a convertible variant as well. Lowering the top of the Camaro Convertible is easy, thanks to an advanced key fob that it comes packaged with. The 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 DI engine helps the Camaro race from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

The new iteration of the Chevrolet Corvette manages to be even sportier than the Camaro. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, thanks to its new mid-engine design and 6.2-liter V8 powertrain.

Like the Camaro, the Corvette is available as both a hard-top model and a convertible. This impressive sports car also made an appearance on theU.S. News & World Report list of the Best Luxury Sports Cars for 2020.

Chevy Equinox Makes IIHS 2020 List of Safe Vehicles for Teens

Chevy Equinox | Dixon, IL
Chevy Equinox | Dixon, IL

Chevy Equinox models from 2016 and after were all named as top choices for teen drivers in the latest “Safe Vehicles for Teens” list released annually by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

In order to receive a spot on this respected IIHS list, cars must receive ratings of “acceptable” or “good” in the IIHS driver-side small overlap front test. The Equinox also had to earn “good” safety ratings in the moderate overlap front, roof strength, side, and head restraints tests.

More standards had to be met to get on the list. The 2020 Chevy Equinox also received at least 4 stars in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) side and front tests to go along with an overall score of 4 stars at minimum. A spot on the list also required a score of at least 3 out of 5 on the Consumer Reports emergency handling capability test.

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS after proving its mettle in crash tests. Teen Driver is a safety feature that enables you to determine which features will be activated and which will be limited while your teen drives. Teen Driver will track your child’s performance and present you with an in-vehicle report card detailing their habits.

Though some people are already counting down to fall, there’s still plenty of summer days left to enjoy. If you have a Chevy Colorado or a Silverado, it’s easy to transform your truck bed to enhance your summer fun. Here are some simple ways to do that.

Truck Bed Picnic

Take a meal outdoors with your loved ones while avoiding sitting directly in the grass. All you need to bring are some pillows, a blanket, and your favorite homemade or takeout food.

Truck Bed Movie Night

You don’t have to go to a drive-in to catch a movie in your truck. Grab a laptop or a tablet and watch your favorite movies in the bed of your truck. All you need to do is blow up an air mattress that fits, get some blankets and pillows, and lay back and watch. And pack some movie snacks and drinks in case you have the munchies.

Truck Bed Camping

Thanks to Chevy technology and towing capabilities, you might have already used your truck for camping. Consider truck bed camping in your backyard or driveway, to adhere to social distancing standards while still having a delightful night outside of the house.

Chevrolet Reveals Gas Mileage and Tow Rating for the 2021 Tahoe

2021 Chevy Tahoe | Dixon, IL

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the most anticipated upcoming additions to the Chevrolet lineup. The brand has tweaked the model to be bigger and bolder than ever. Now, we know a little more about this SUV, since Chevy released the gas mileage and tow ratings for the 2021 Tahoe.

The 2021 Tahoe manages to squeeze out an EPA-estimated 20 mpg on the highway, when equipped with the standard 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. Engines with higher power outputs lower the fuel economy by just a bit.

Towing capacity is where the 2021 Tahoe really shines, however. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more impressive metrics among large SUVs. When the 2021 Chevy Tahoe is equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 engine and comes configured with 2WD, it can tow up to 7,900 pounds. Opting for 4WD lowers that tow rating by just 200 pounds. Regardless of which drivetrain you go with, you can easily bring along a camper or boat on your family’s next getaway.

Learn more about the upcoming 2021 Tahoe when you call us at Ken Nelson Chevrolet. Can’t wait until the new model arrives? Stop by to test-drive one of the 2020 Tahoe models we have in stock right now. We’ll help match you with the right Tahoe to suit your family’s needs, preferences, and budget.
