The Chevrolet lineup of all-electric vehicles at Ken Nelson Chevrolet is growing, and one of the newest arrivals is the 2022 Bolt EUV. This innovative model is designed to meet the needs of many SUV buyers, so here’s a guide to help you decide if it’s the right choice for you in Dixon, Illinois.
Efficiency and emissions
If efficiency and eco-friendliness are top priorities for you, it’s hard to do better than the Bolt EUV. This electric SUV could potentially save you thousands of dollars in gasoline costs over the years, and its zero-emissions performance is a huge plus for keeping Dixon green and beautiful.
Range and charging
The Bolt EUV boasts a driving range of up to 247 miles and can be charged at home or at a public station. If you commute from Dixon to Rockford or Chicago’s western suburbs where there are numerous charging stations to choose from, staying powered up will be easy. However, if you’re mainly driving long distances in rural Illinois where no charging stations are available, a gas-powered SUV like the Chevy Equinox or Trailblazer might be the better choice.
Size and seating
If a compact SUV is what you need, an electric SUV like the Bolt EUV delivers. This model has room for five passengers across its two rows, including more than 39 inches of rear legroom. It can also hold up to 56.9 cubic feet of cargo. That’s far more than what an electric car offers! However, if you need to carry more passengers or need more cargo space, you’re better off with a three-row Chevy model like the Traverse or Tahoe.
Still have questions about choosing the 2022 Bolt EUV or any upcoming electric SUV from Chevrolet? Visit us here at Ken Nelson Chevrolet in Dixon and we’ll be happy to provide the answers you need.
EPA estimated. Actual range will vary based on several factors, including temperature, terrain, battery age, loading, use and maintenance.
The Chevy Beast was the star of the lineup. This concept vehicle is based on a modified Silverado chassis, optimized for high-performance desert running. Under the hood, it boasts a 650-horsepower Chevrolet Performance LT4 crate engine, paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This monster rides on 37-inch-tall off-road tires and offers four Recaro® performance seats.
While the Chevy Beast is a concept model that won’t be produced for public purchase, the automaker showed off a few of its off-road-oriented production models: the 2022 Silverado ZR2 and the 2022 Colorado Z71 Off-Road Performance Edition.
The new 2022 Silverado ZR2 is ready to go from the showroom to the trails, with built-in features like Multimatic 40mm DSSV spool-valve dampers, high-approach bumpers, and 33-inch off-road tires. The Colorado, on the other hand, boasts the Trail Boss Package. This package lives up to its name by providing skid plates, a 1-inch suspension leveling kit, and red tow hooks.
Other stylish and capable models on display as SEMA this year included the 2022 Tahoe Z71 Overlanding concept, which rides on 33-inch off-road wheels, boasts an Off-Road Recovery Kit, and a variety of enhancements available via Chevrolet Accessories.

Chevrolet first offered the ZR2 off-road package in 1994 on the Chevrolet S-10 pickup. Since then, it has expanded to be available on other Chevy trucks and SUVs. Most recently, it was relaunched as a trim level on the Chevrolet Colorado and has been there since 2017.
Now, Chevrolet has teased that the ZR2 trim will be making its way to the Silverado lineup for the 2022 model year at Ken Nelson Chevrolet. Here are some Silverado ZR2 details you should know.
What is the ZR2 package?
The ZR2 is an equipment and performance package that enhances off-road capabilities. On the Colorado, it adds ZR2 off-road suspension, an automatic locking rear differential, increased ground clearance, an Off-Road Appearance Package, and a Multimatic DSSV™ Damping System.
What can we expect on the Silverado ZR2?
As for the Silverado ZR2, we don’t know specifics yet, but we expect to see similar off-road-ready features. Car and Driver suggests that the Silverado ZR2 will come equipped with 35-inch tires, front and rear locking differentials, skid plates, and a suspension lift.
Chevrolet says this exciting new addition to the Silverado lineup will be making its debut this fall at dealerships — including here at Ken Nelson Chevrolet in Dixon, Illinois. If you want a pickup truck that offers maximum off-roading potential, keep an eye out for the debut of the Silverado ZR2.
